My understanding of aesthetic medicine's evolution  :

Since  several years, I have  developed  the “French Touch” concept.  Thinking about aesthetic medicine's evolution, I wanted to  fight against the gestures that change the patient’s personality, that erase the natural charm by preferring a subtle embellishment with undetectable gestures. The patient’s wish of having a beautiful face at any age re-quires the practician to own the largest range of medical gestures.

The aesthetic medicine is similar to the shadow and light art. Our role is to chase the shadows that age or make a face sad, and bring to it light the way a photographer could magnify a portrait. However, our face is not smooth like on glossy paper, it is on a per-petual movement. Our role is to observe the face, to appreciate the muscle’s actions and balances, the skin quality, volume loss, light loss. We need to analyse the ageing type : either by subsidence of heavy skin tissue, either by the face’s skeletalization by loss of fat volumes, either with a skin covered with wrinkles or shrivelled, either by muscular strain during face mimics or related to dental joint disorders.

The face’s position, facial asymmetries and body position are also part of the analysis.

Aesthetic medicine allows responding to many ageing issues or merely allows finding back self esteem by wishing ones face’s embellishment ; no matter reasons or time, the need of advise and trusting professional expertise will allow having a range of aesthetic solutions, from prevention to medicals techniques, until surgical approach.

Techniques can be non or minimally invasive such as peelings, light therapy, radio frequency, fractionated laser, lifting massages combining a muscle stimulation of the lym phatic draine, with cosmetics targeted according to skin defaults and quality (spots, dryness, oedema, ...)

Botulinum toxin or hyaluronic acid injection techniques and other filers have be- come common and well mastered techniques.

The techniques adapt themselves to needs : mesotherapy, needles, cannulas…, superficial or deep injections by napping for restoring volumes in a concern of projection.

Finally, the installation of absorbable (or non absorbable) tensor threads during the consultation can provide a less aggressive response than a lifting and also have good action of collagen stimulation.

The possibilities are so varied and so minimally invasive as long as ones addresses to well mastered and well known products and techniques, that it is possible to associate them with each other over time for subtle results without correction, for undetectable gestures that erase imperfections, and delay ageing.

                                                           .....................................

It emerges from all the artistic, sociological, cosmetic or aesthetic studies and analyses that a rested and natural face with beautiful curves and lights are imperatives that we must find through our techniques of injections, chasing shadows and sad or tired looks.  Aesthetic acts remain primarily medical acts and must follow the rules of good practice.

Injectable filler products : Fillers ( lipofilling non developed )

Resorbable products are currently hyaluronic acids, and slowly resorbable products are L-polylactic acid and calcium hydroxyapatite. The consultation before the in- jection is a very important time of the medical procedure.

The interview will look for medical history and will record previous cosmetic acts, especially the previously injected products nature and location. The act will be performed by a practitioner trained for this technique. The act’s traceability is mandatory (decree no. 2006-1497, decree of 26 January 2007). It is advised to give the product’s name and lot number to the patient and keep this information for at least 15 years in the medical record.    Read

Aesthetic is the non-surgical treatment of imperfections of the face and neck.

Other parts of the body can be improved using the same techniques such as the hands and thorax .

It's necessary to recognise the facial defect both in calm and animated states to know the best suited techniques. Never to overdo to retain a natural look.

To encourage precautions : sun protection, avoiding tobacco and a sensible , healthy life-style are indispensable aids to counteract the ageing process and avoid the accumu- lation of free radicals ( poisons in the cells ).

Aesthetic medical treatment also allows for the treatments of certain ailment due to : Botox or Botulinum toxin .
