Is the surgery of protruding ears. It's a common practice and several techniques are offered. It can be carried out from 7 years  of age . The child must express desire for the treatment. The surgery is carried out under general anesthetic as an out-patient by an incision behind the ear.

The resorbable stitches desappear after 15 days . A dressing is left on for 24 hrs. A nurse treats once a day for the first week . The after effects can be painful for one  or  two days.

The ears are sensitive for around 10 days and a bandage to protect them during the night is recommended.

Bathing should be avoided until the scars have completely healed.

An occasional risk :  a hyperthrophic cicatrization called a kelloid on part of the ear that we don't know the origin of. A suitable treatment is offered ( Kenacort or laser )

      A  new  technique  is  available  for  protruding  ears.
