  Botox is a treatment that helps relax muscles. Botulinum toxin is a medication and a neurotoxine protein produced by the bacterium: Clostridium Botulinum.

 It works by blocking selected signals from the nerves to the muscle. Commonly known by its trade name : Botox. Despite its toxic nature " botox " is commonly used in cosmetic procedures.

Cosmetic indications : The best indications are the frown lines, the forehead and crows feet .

 An injection in the chin can remove orange -peel skin. The areas for the injections are chosen to achieve the required results and the dose is calculated by the doctor.

 It 's recommanded to avoid intensive exercice after the injection and not to lie down in 2 hours following the treatment.

 Aspirin must not be taken to avoid bleeding. The area treatment must not be massaged during the first 24 hours following the treatment to avoid the diffusion of the product towards non intended muscles. The effects are visible for between 4 - 6 months . It's recommended to have 4 systematic injection during the first 2 years , their effectiveness  can be  extended.

Contraindications : Neuromuscular problem ( M. de Lamber- Laton ) pregnancy, under-going treatment by antibiotic of the type aminoside allergy to eggs and albumen.

Complications can included asymetry, a head ache during the first day and a transitory falling of the eyes lids.

Medical indication: The use of "botox" or xeomine is recommended of the excessive sweating of the ampits and hands ( sometimes a single injection is enough).

** Spasms of the eyes lids

** Trimus of spasms of the constructor muscles of the mandible. ( following a facial paralyse , for example.)

** Spasmodie torticolis.

The injections are repeated every 3 or 4 months .
